Evaluating HCAI products in a hospital setting
Infection prevention and control is a high priority for every NHS Trust, and an important performance indicator. Smart Solutions is part of the healthcare associated infections (HCAI) Technology Innovation Programme which is working hard to speed up the development and introduction of new technologies with proven effectiveness against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Clostridium difficile (C.difficile) and other infections.
Testing these new technologies, which may come from healthcare companies or other industry sectors, is a vital step in the process. The Smart Solutions team has been seeking acute hospitals or NHS organisations in England and Wales to host practical evaluations of new technologies which have been selected by an expert independent review panel.
