The Health Protection Agency - HPA is a national organisation which protects the community against infectious diseases and other dangers to health. It reports levels of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium difficile (C.difficile) infections every quarter.

The Healthcare Commission is the independent watchdog for healthcare in England. It promotes continuous improvement in the services provided by the NHS and independent healthcare organisations. It inspects NHS hospitals to check whether they are meeting national standards on infection control.

The NHS National Innovation Centre - NIC aims to speed up the development of pre-commercial technologies likely to benefit the NHS. It co-ordinates the activities of nine regional Innovation Hubs, including TrusTECH®.

The Manchester-based NHS Technology Adoption Centre - NTAC aims to increase the uptake of new technology in all areas of the NHS and to promote greater cooperation between all organisations involved in the development and use of healthcare technologies in the NHS.

TrusTECH® is the North West NHS Innovation Hub. It helps NHS staff in the region to identify and protect innovative technologies, ideas and services that could be commercialised or shared to improve patient care. TrusTECH® also facilitates collaborations between commercial organisations and the NHS to develop new technologies and improve healthcare.

Medilink North West is a membership-based not-for-profit professional association that services medical and health technology companies, hospitals and universities within the North West region of the UK. It also provides a gateway for national and international clients who are interested in developing network relationships (commercial, research or clinical) within the region's medical and health technology sector.

The Royal Society for Public Health is an independent, multi-disciplinary membership organisation, dedicated to the promotion and protection of collective human health and wellbeing. It offers an accreditation service which endorses products which contribute to the maintenance and improvement of hygiene, pubic health and safety.
